The Clementine Children's Hospital is a 75-bed hospital in Frankfurt am Main . It is the only Frankfurt hospital specializing in the treatment of children and adolescents. It has been under joint management with the Bürgerhospital since 2009 and together with it forms a teaching hospital for the Frankfurt University Hospital .

history
The Frankfurt pediatrician Johann Theobald Christ founded the Dr. Christ'sche Foundation , with whose money the Dr. Christ'sche Children's Hospital for poor children was built at the current location. Louise Freifrau von Rothschild founded the Clementine Children's Hospital Foundation in 1875 in memory of her deceased daughter Clementine , thereby laying the foundation stone for the Clementine Girls' Hospital in the Bornheimer Landwehr in the north end . Both hospitals were destroyed by the air raids on Frankfurt am Main during World War II. In 1954, the two foundations jointly built today's hospital on Theobald-Christ-Straße in Frankfurt's Ostend .
In 1974 the two foundations merged to form today's Clementine Children's Hospital Dr. Christ Foundation . In 2009, the two foundation hospitals in Frankfurt, the Bürgerhospital and the Clementine Children's Hospital, merged under common sponsorship. Since 2014, the provider has been operating as Bürgerhospital and Clementine Kinderhospital gGmbH . The Clementine Children's Hospital Dr. Christ'sche Foundation continues to support the children's hospital financially.
Since 2018, a new building for the Clementine Children's Hospital has been built on the site of the former Marienkrankenhaus in Nordend, in the immediate vicinity of the Bürgerhospital. The move is planned for 2023.
