Georg Altkuckatz

Georg Altkuckatz (* March 20, 1930 ; † April 20, 1992 ) was a German functionary of the GDR block party NDPD . From 1979 to 1989 he was chairman of the NDPD district board in Halle .

Life

Altkuckatz, the son of a carpenter, received a commercial training after attending elementary school. He worked as a retail salesman and was director of the HO district operation in Finsterwalde from 1956 to 1962 . In 1963 he was deputy director of the HO district headquarters in Cottbus . He joined the National Democratic Party of Germany (NDPD) and was temporarily chairman of the NDPD district association Finsterwalde. From 1958 to 1963 he was a member of the Cottbus District Parliament . From 1963 to 1978 he was deputy chairman of the Halle District Council for Trade and Supply and was a member of the Halle District Assembly from 1963 to 1990. From April 1977 he was a member of the main committee of the NDPD. On June 16, 1979 he was elected chairman of the NDPD district association Halle (successor to Karlheinz Döring) at the district conference of the NDPD. Altkuckatz held the post until the fall of the Wall and the peaceful revolution in the GDR (1989/90).
