Georg August Heinrich Mühlenbein (born October 15, 1764 in Königslutter  von Grell; † January 8, 1845 there ; also: Georgius Augustus Henricus Muehlenbein ) was a German doctor, court advisor, ducal personal medicine and homeopath in Braunschweig.

His father was a tenant. Mühlenbein was tutored by a private tutor, then he attended the community school in Königslutter, later in Holzminden, where he was trained in older languages. From 1784 he studied at the University of Helmstedt , where he heard lectures on medicine from Gottfried Christoph Beireis and chemistry from Lorenz Grell. He studied anatomy at the University of Braunschweig and received his doctorate in medicine from the University of Helmstedt on November 2, 1889 .

For a short time he practiced as a doctor in Königslutter and then in Naumburg an der Saale . Due to the lack of a medical police force and a poorly managed pharmacy, he went on to Braunschweig, where he was given the position of medical officer. In Schöningen the local medical officer died in a typhus - epidemic , which is why Mühlenbein was moved by the Duke of Brunswick after Schöningen. He then turned down the offer of the medical officer in Heiligenstadt . Since the post in Blankenburg was filled elsewhere, he became a medical officer in Königslutter. There he got to know Samuel Hahnemann and noticed differences in views and attitudes. From 1800 to 1812 he vaccinated 1200 children with smallpox vaccine .

He was a Privy Councilor and Knight of the Order of Henry the Lion . From 1822 he was a member of the learned society of homeopaths.
