State Sportsman of the Year (Brandenburg)
The election for Brandenburg's Sportsman of the Year has been carried out since 1992. It is organized by the Landessportbund Brandenburg . A jury of media representatives from Lausitzer Rundschau , Märkische Oderzeitung , Märkische Allgemeine , Potsdamer Neuesten Nachrichten and Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb) will vote on the first three places in each category. The winners will be honored at a sports gala in Potsdam .
In the men’s category, the canoeist Sebastian Brendel won six times, and thus the most frequently ; he also won the title twice with the teams. The canoeist Franziska Weber holds the record for women with six awards. In the team standings, the women’s soccer teams from 1. FFC Turbine Potsdam , who have won ten times, are the most successful.
