The Sunday nunatak is an isolated nunatak in Marie Byrd Land in West Antarctica . In the Ford massif of the Thiel Mountains, it rises 30 km east-northeast of the Hamilton cliff .
Edward C. Thiel and John Campbell Craddock discovered him on December 13, 1959 during a geophysical traverse flight along the 88th west longitude as part of the United States Antarctic Research Program . Thiel and Craddock named him after Wayne Sonntag from the University of Wisconsin , who was responsible for the logistics on this transverse flight.
