Kathrin Freitag (born April 16, 1974 in Röbel ) is a former German track cyclist .

From 1990 to 1992 Kathrin Freitag was junior world champion in sprint three times in a row . In 2000 she won two German championship titles, in the sprint and in the 500-meter time trial . In the following years she was repeatedly on the podium at German championships. At the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney , she finished 7th in the time trial and 9th in the sprint. She celebrated her last great success in 2004 at the World Cup race in Sydney, where she won the team sprint together with Katrin Meinke . Nevertheless, she could not qualify for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. She ended her career the following year.

She drove for the Frankfurt RC 90 club .
