Claudia Lommatzsch

Claudia Lommatzsch is a former German cyclist .

Claudia Lommatzsch was one of the first German track cyclists to be internationally successful. In 1980 , 1981 and 1982 she was third in the sprint at World Track Championships. In 1983 she won the prestigious sprint classic Grand Prix de Paris after finishing second the year before. In 1982 she also took third place in the road race at the German championship.

In 1983 Claudia Lommatzsch tested positive for ephedrine at the UCI-Bahn World Championships in 1983 . Because of doping , the second place in the sprint was revoked. This decision was revised by the World Cycling Association Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) in November of the same year, but Lommatzsch had already announced her immediate resignation from cycling due to these events.
