from Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Georg Betzler (born August 1, 1850 in Nendingen ; † 1928 there ) was a member of the Center Party in the Württemberg state parliament.

Life

Georg Betzler graduated from primary school in Nendingen and then learned the trade of nail smith. He did his military service from 1871 to 1874 with the 1st royal Württemberg Uhlan Regiment . He then worked as a farmer in Nendingen. He first made his experience in politics in the Nendingen municipal council.

State politics

With a convincing share of the vote, Georg Betzler was able to secure the seat for the constituency of Tuttlingen in the elections in December 1912 . He was one of eight members of the second electoral district . The Oberamt Tuttlingen, especially its home community Nendingen, have always been strongholds of the Center Party, although its largest city Tuttlingen is evangelical . During the First World War he retained his mandate, although his role in parliament can be described more as that of a backbencher .

He commented on the fact that he fell on the first trip to the Stuttgart state parliament with the sentence "It seems to me that it is very smooth here in the state parliament".

family

Georg Betzler's politics run in the family: The grandfather of his wife Johanna (née Mattes, 1856–1932) is the member of parliament, Barnabas Mattes .
