Georg Brüning
Georg Brüning (born August 12, 1851 at Botzlar Castle in Selm , † December 17, 1932 in Beuthen , Upper Silesia ) was a German lawyer , politician and long-time mayor of Beuthen O / S. , mayor since 1892. He held the office until 1919.
Live and act
Brüning expanded the gas, water and electricity network and the sewerage system in Bytom and had roads paved. During his term of office the construction of the city theater , the secondary school and the hygiene institute fell.
Brüning was u. a. awarded the Order of the Red Eagle . Georg Brüning died on December 17, 1932 in Beuthen O / S. His grave is in the Mater Dolorosa Catholic cemetery . Brüning was married to Dorothea nee Köchne and had five children.
In honor of Georg Brüning, the square in front of the city administration in Bytom was named after him on January 23, 2015. At the same time a memorial plaque was unveiled.
