Georg Christoph Detharding the Younger (* May 2, 1730 in Rostock ; † June 12, 1789 ibid) was a German medic .

Life

Georg Christoph Detharding the Elder J. was the son of the professor of medicine at the University of Rostock Georg Christoph Detharding (1699–1784) and his wife Katharine Elisabeth, b. Rye cultivation. He studied medicine at the Rostock University with his father. In 1759, under the presidency of his father, he received his doctorate as Dr. med. with the theme "de humorum mutationibus from animi adfectibus". He practiced in Rostock, where he died on June 12, 1789.

From 1762 Detharding was married to Agneta Sophie, b. Oerthling (1740-1816). The couple had three children; the daughter Catherine Sophie Detharding (1763-1846) and the sons Georg Gustav (1765-1832) and Georg Christoph (* 1766). The daughter married Heinrich Georg Crull (1755-1819), with whom she had eight children. Detharding's older brother Georg Detharding (1727-1813) became pastor in Rostock.
