Georg Dücker (conductor)

Georg Dücker (* 1949 ) is a German conductor , composer and music teacher .

Georg Dücker studied school music and composition at the Cologne University of Music . He studied conducting at the Folkwang University in Essen and German and musicology at the Ruhr University Bochum .

Dücker founded the Essen Vocal Ensemble in 1975, with which he has worked and performed continuously ever since. From 1978 to 2015 he taught at the Essen-Werden high school , where he was also the choir and orchestra director. In 2008 Dücker made a guest appearance with his students in Oświęcim (Auschwitz), Poland , where an orchestral work by Krzysztof Penderecki ("When Jacob awoke from his sleep, he saw that God had been there. He did not notice it.", 1974) was performed.

In addition, Dücker directs a number of other large and small orchestras and choirs in the North Rhine-Westphalian region, as well as the Federal Jurists Orchestra (patronage Heiko Maas ).

Dücker has also published a number of his compositions and musical arrangements, including with Carus-Verlag .
