Georg Dürrschmidt

Georg Dürrschmidt (* 16th December 1958 in Rhineland-Palatinate ) is a German local politician of the CDU .

The trained businessman grew up in Gimmeldingen (near Neustadt an der Weinstrasse ) and has lived in the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district since 1990 . He is the owner of a small family business, married and has three children. In March 2006 he was elected district councilor for the Oberspreewald-Lausitz district. His predecessor Holger Bartsch (SPD) had not run because he had reached the age limit.

On January 22, 2007, at the request of the Cottbus public prosecutor's office, Dürrschmidt's house was searched with the charge that between autumn 2004 and January 2007 he had child pornography material in five cases , a total of around 50 images and videos, from the Internet onto a computer in his private house his wife's resident mini-company. Dürrschmidt denies this, he was demonstrably not on site at the time in question and the computer was also accessible to others. The court issued a penalty order on July 31, 2008 , against which Dürrschmidt appealed. On December 11, 2008, the Brandenburg Ministry of the Interior ordered a temporary suspension from service until the allegations were clarified. In mid-February 2009, the main public hearing began before the Senftenberg District Court , which Dürrschmidt sentenced on May 18, 2009 to a fine of 16,800 euros. On July 9, 2009, he was voted out of office by the district council.

Dürrschmidt was also Chairman of the Board of Directors of Sparkasse Niederlausitz .
