Georg Eckl (born September 5, 1863 in Vienna ; † May 4, 1929 there ) was an Austrian bibliophile and collector.

Little is known about him biographically except that he worked as a civil servant. From 1909 he owned a house at Burggasse 99 in Vienna ("Zur Stadt Jerusalem"). Georg Eckl belonged to Max von Portheim's circle of friends who met regularly in the Cafe Akademie. He was friends with Gustav Gugitz .

He put together an extensive library, mainly of works on Vienna. For example, he owned a large collection of almanacs (over 700 volumes) and a complete collection of postal books (1701–1920). "A child from Lerchenfeld , for more than four decades he has collected everything that has a geographical, folkloristic, literary and historical relationship to Vienna."

His collection was auctioned off at Ignaz Schwarz's second-hand bookshop and auction house from 1926–27 . His estate was auctioned off at Dorotheum in 1930 .
