Georg Friedrich Franck of Franckenau

Georg Friedrich Franck von Franckenau , also Georg Friedrich Frankus von Frankenau (born August 28, 1669 in Strasbourg / France , † in May 1732 in Copenhagen / Denmark ) was a German physician and lawyer as well as a member of the academy of scholars " Leopoldina ".

Life

Georg Friedrich Franck von Franckenau was the son of the doctor Georg Franck von Franckenau . He studied medicine and law in Heidelberg and received his doctorate from the University of Jena. He was initially an associate professor of medicine at Wittenberg. From 1695 he stayed in Denmark. In 1701 he became a full professor of medicine at the University of Copenhagen. He was councilor of the Supreme Royal Danish Court and assessor of the Consistory. He dealt with the healing effects of music.

In 1693 Franck was ennobled by Franckenau. His brother was the lawyer, diplomat and poet Gerhard Ernst Franck von Franckenau.

On May 15, 1692, Georg Friedrich Franck von Franckenau with the nickname PHILARETUS I was accepted as a member ( matriculation no. 190 ) in the Leopoldina .
