Georg Fundel

Georg Fundel (born February 20, 1954 in Münsingen ) was managing director of Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH for over 20 years .

Life

Fundel passed his Abitur in 1974 at the college of the school brothers in Illertissen and then studied economics at the University of Hohenheim . Fundel wrote his diploma thesis on the failure of a GTZ development aid project in Tunisia.

Since 1999 Fundel has been a lecturer at the Institute for Railway and Transportation Systems at the University of Stuttgart on the subject of air traffic and airport management and has been an honorary professor there since 2006.

In 1982 Fundel became head of Stuttgart's economic development department . In 1989 he moved to the Landesgirokasse as head of the building and real estate departments, as well as public relations and marketing . During this time he was loaned to Treuhandliegenschaftsgesellschaft Dresden (TLG) from August to December 2009 and helped to build up the TLG property area in Saxony.

Fundel has been a member of the board of directors of the Helene Pfleiderer Foundation since 1994 and has been chairman of the Association of Friends and Patrons of Wilhelma since 2001

Fundel was one of the two managing directors of Flughafen Stuttgart GmbH between August 1996 and his retirement at the end of April 2017. He was on the supervisory board of the following companies: Flughafen Friedrichshafen GmbH , Baden Airpark GmbH , Projektgesellschaft Neue Messe GmbH u. Co KG and HSG GmbH.

Fundel has three children and lives in Stuttgart.
