Georg Höhn (born July 1, 1812 in Neustrelitz , † January 20, 1879 in Dessau ) was a German landscape painter .

Höhn attended the Academy in Berlin from 1828 to 1831 and then entered the studio of Professor Karl Blechen .

In 1838 his first picture appeared: A cloister courtyard , at the Berlin art exhibition and was designed by Friedrich Wilhelm III. bought. Höhn lived in Dessau from 1837, where he died on January 20, 1879.

He preferred to paint oak landscapes in the local area and decorated them with figures or with large game , for which, as an experienced hunter, he showed a fine talent for observation. His pictures are mostly of a smaller format. He painted some larger landscapes, vedutas from the Dessau area, on behalf of the local court. The painting A winter oak forest near Dessau is in the Berlin National Gallery .
