Georg Hallwachs (bailiff)

Johann Karl Georg Hallwachs (born April 1, 1751 in Kürnbach , † August 9, 1797 in Alsfeld ) was a German bailiff .

family

Hallwachs was the son of the bailiff in Kürnbach and later bailiff in Alsfeld Johann Konrad Hallwachs (1718–1789). He was of Protestant denomination and married on June 16, 1787 in Darmstadt Maria Katharina Wagner (born October 6, 1763 in Darmstadt, † January 15, 1794 in Alsfeld), the daughter of the valet of Prince Georg Wilhelm in Darmstadt, Moritz Wagner and Elisabeth Katharina Biebel. The following children were born from the marriage:

  • Marie Luisa Katharina Hallwachs (1783–1789)
  • Friederike Charlotte Wilhelmine Steimmig, b. Hallwachs (1784–1844), married to the Medical Council in Wertheim and Mannheim Dr. med. Wilhelm Reinhardt Amelius Steimmig
  • Luise Katharina Karoline Hallwachs, b. Hallwachs (1789–1844), married to the district councilor in Wimpfen Friedrich Ludwig Hallwachs (1779–1836)
  • Dorothea Caroline Hoffmann, b. Hallwachs (1793–1874), married to the general staff auditor and advocate Wilhelm Hoffmann
  • Konrad Wilhelm Hallwachs (1786–1860), Minister, Real Privy Councilor and President of the Council of State, Excellency
  • Georg Ludwig Anton Friedrich Hallwachs (1788–1843), Vice President of the Higher Court for Rheinhessen in Mainz
  • Eberhard Ludwig Hallwachs (1793–1794)

Life

Hallwachs studied law in Giessen from January 28, 1766. After graduating, he became a reservation officer for Cent Lauterbach and Angenrod. He was later a government advocate and was awarded the title of government councilor. In 1781 he became court advisor in Darmstadt. ([1785] –1797) he was bailiff in the Alsfeld office .
