Georg Hannäus

Georg Hannäus (born March 19, 1647 in Odense , Denmark ; † April 1, 1699 ibid) was a German-Danish doctor and philosopher, professor of ethics in Odense and member of the Leopoldina Academy of Scholars .

Georg Hannäus, also Georg Hannäus the Elder, was a city doctor in Rendsburg and Odense. He was appointed professor of ethics and eloquence at the Odense High School. At this grammar school he was also vice principal. He also became Provincial Physician for Funen .

On March 24, 1684, Georg Hannäus, nicknamed DIOMEDES , was admitted to the Leopoldina as a member ( registration number 119 ).

His grandson, Georg Hannäus the Younger (1705–1750), was a garrison doctor in Hamburg.
