Georg Oelrichs

Georg Oelrichs (born February 8, 1754 in Bremen ; † October 15, 1809 there ) was a lawyer and Bremen senator / councilor.

biography

Oelrichs was the son of the brewer and elder Jasper Oelrichs (1724–1775) and his wife Margarethe (1724–1775). He was the brother of the elderly Jasper Oelrichs (1758–1813) and brother-in-law of Senator Albert Hermann von Post (1777–1850). Senator Carl Jasper Oelrichs (1844–1923) also comes from the family .
He was married to the early deceased Schottherr daughter Anna Margaretha Wilckens (1760–1792); both had eight children. In his second marriage he was married to the senator's daughter Friederike Dorothee von Post (1766–1849); both had two children.

He completed his school days in Bremen, from 1770 at the Illustre grammar school in Bremen . From 1773 he studied law at the University of Göttingen and obtained his doctorate in Marburg in 1777. jur. He then worked as a lawyer and judge.
From 1782 to 1809 (†) he was the successor to Heinrich Hermann Meier Bremen Senator. He was a collector of art objects. A legacy of the Almata von Büren in Bremen - Tenever was owned by the Oelrichs family from 1775 to 1892. .
