Georg Richter (actor)

Georg Alexander Richter or Georg Lüddeckens Alexander Richter (born December 27, 1915 in Berlin , † May 10, 1972 in Oslo ) was a German-Norwegian actor .

Career

Richter grew up in Germany in his youth and went to Norway in 1931 with his mother, the Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen , after the silent film era ended . He began training as an actor there and made his debut in 1938 as a theater actor at Søilen Teater in Oslo. He then went to Det Norske Teatret , Riksteatret , Folketeatret and Den Nationale Scene , where he also played several leading roles. In 1939 he got his first film role in the main character of the orphan boy Albert in the Norwegian film De vergeløse and in 1940 he starred in the film Aunt Pose . At the beginning of the war against Norway in World War II , he joined the Norwegian army despite his German descent and went to neutral Sweden after the Norwegian surrender . After the German capitulation , he went back to Norway and continued his film acting career there. From then on, Richter took part in many well-known Norwegian films, such as the 1958 film Dødes tjern and appeared in two films by the Norwegian Olsen Gang (1969 and 1970) as police chief together with Sverre Wilberg , who appeared there as police commissioner Hermansens. Richter died on May 10, 1972 at the age of 56.

family

Richter was the son of the Norwegian actress Aud Egede-Nissen (1893–1974) - later also known as Aud Richter - and the German actor and director Georg Alexander (1889–1945). He took the name of his stepfather, the actor Paul Richter , his mother's second husband. He was also the grandson of the German actor Georg Lüddeckens .
