Georg Schwebel

Georg Schwebel (also Schwöbel ) (born December 15, 1885 in Siedelsbrunn ; † November 24, 1964 ibid) was a Hessian politician ( SPD ) and former member of the Landtag of the People's State of Hesse in the Weimar Republic .

Georg Schwebel was the son of the stone carver Peter Schwebel and his wife Eva Elisabeth nee Walter. Georg Schwebel, who was of Protestant denomination, married Anna Elisabeth née Jöst in 1908 and in 1941 her second marriage was Elisabeth née Spieß.

education and profession

Georg Schwebel attended elementary school and worked as a stone carver until 1909 and as a leather worker in Weinheim until 1924 . From 1924 to 1933 he was employed as a community computer in Siedelsbrunn. After the " seizure of power " by the National Socialists, he was released and in 1933 held in the Osthofen concentration camp . From 1945 until his death he was first a short-term community calculator, then semi-official mayor in Siedelsbrunn and at the same time restaurateur and farmer.

politics

From 1919 to 1933 Georg Schwebel was a member of the community council in Siedelsbrunn and the district council. As a replacement for Ludwig Lückel , he was a member of the Hessian state parliament from 1929 to 1931. In 1945 until his death he was again a member of the district council. In the 1949 federal election he was an SPD candidate for the Bundestag. 1945 to 1964 he was mayor of Siedelsbrunn.
