Georg Seifert

Georg Seifert (born March 16, 1819 in Gochsheim , † May 13, 1876 in Munich ) was a musician , composer and trumpeter in the Bavarian Army .

Life

After attending the German school in Gochsheim and his musical training by the tower keeper Georg Wagner, he joined the 2nd Field Artillery Regiment of the Bavarian Army in Würzburg as a trumpeter candidate on July 1, 1835 . In 1840 he was promoted to trumpeter and in 1849 successfully applied for the vacant post of stick trumpeter with the 2nd Heavy Rider Regiment in Landshut . There he rebuilt his trumpeter corps.

From 1859 to 1876 Seifert was a baton trumpeter in the 3rd Field Artillery Regiment in Munich.

He dedicated many of his compositions to his wife Sophie and his children. The sheet music for the compositions is in the holdings of the music department of the Bavarian State Library in Munich.
