Georg Simon (born January 25, 1872 in Augsburg , † June 25, 1944 in Stadtbergen ) was a German politician (SPD).

Georg Simon was born as the son of the grocer's dealer Matthäus Simon and his wife Margarethe, born Götz. His sister was Christina Noll (SPD) , a member of the Hessian state parliament . After attending primary school in Augsburg from 1878 to 1886, Simon completed an apprenticeship as a carpenter by 1889. In addition, he attended the advanced training school in Augsburg. Afterwards he practiced his profession for a few years as a traveling journeyman in Germany, Austria and Switzerland. Around 1892 Simon became a member of the Social Democratic Party of Germany (SPD). In 1906 he married. In the same year he joined the editorial team of the Schwäbische Volkszeitung in Augsburg, the organ of the SPD in Augsburg and Swabia. From 1908 to 1912, Simon was the municipal representative for the city of Augsburg. In 1910 he became chairman of the SPD in Augsburg. From 1912 to 1919 he was a member of the municipal council in Augsburg.

In January 1919 Simon was elected to the Weimar National Assembly, in which he represented constituency 24 (Upper Bavaria-Swabia) until the first Reichstag of the Weimar Republic met in June 1920. He then sat in the Reichstag for six legislative terms - from June 1920 to November 1932. In parliament he represented constituency 27 or - after renumbering the constituencies in 1924 - 24 (Upper Bavaria-Swabia). Simon also sat on the Augsburg city council from 1919 to 1930.

On May 11, 1933, a few weeks after the National Socialists came to power , Simon was arrested by order of the Augsburg district leader Schneider.
