Georg Stähelin (born April 14, 1872 in Singapore ; † 1941 or 1950 ) was a German architect . As a student of Skjøld Neckelmann , he studied at the Technical University of Stuttgart . Later he was self- employed.

Act

In 1895, Stähelin and his college friend Paul Schmohl founded the societal architects' association “Schmohl & Stähelin” in Stuttgart . It was in this community that the "Citizens' Hall" in historicist style was created. They were also involved in the development of the upper Herdweg in the north of Stuttgart , where they had a number of single-family houses built between 1900 and 1907. They built some villas in the Hauptmannsreute and the Feuerbacher Heide . They won prizes for their designs in an architectural competition to rebuild the village of Ilsfeld near Heilbronn, which was largely destroyed in a major fire in 1904, and built the Protestant parish church of St. Bartholomew there from 1905 to 1906. They were also awarded a third prize for their design in the architectural competition for the new Stuttgart Opera House. Together they published Das Deutsche Haus in 1909/1910 and Die architektonische Auslese in 1913 in two volumes each. The German House had villas and country houses, one and two-family houses and in the second part residential and commercial buildings on the topic. The architectural selection dealt with the Württemberg prince seats of the baroque period and classicism as well as the Viennese baroque.
