Georg Stöger-Ostin

Georg Stöger-Ostin (born July 24, 1874 in Gmund am Tegernsee , Bavaria , † October 27, 1965 in Miesbach ) was a German author .

Life

Georg Stöger was born in what was then Ostin, the son of a day laborer. The writer who lives in Miesbach had to earn his living early on in agriculture and later in forestry operations. Short stories, the motifs of which he took from peasant life, were well received by the readers, whereupon he devoted himself more to writing. The publisher of his first literary works gave him the opportunity to become the local editor of a newspaper, as which Stöger worked for over thirty years. He wrote over 60 novels, about 100 short stories and more than 20 plays.
