Georg Theodor Barthold (born March 6, 1669 in Teuditz , † December 6, 1713 in Gießen ) was a German medic.

Life

Georg Theodor Barthold was the son of Christoph Barthold (born November 20, 1637 in Thum / Erzg .; † March 1, 1692 in Teuditz) and his wife Anna Catherine, daughter of the pastor in Grunau near Weißenfels Georg Kaphahn.

He had attended school in Gera . After studying medicine at the University of Leipzig , he moved to the University of Halle , where he received his doctorate in medicine in 1701 . In 1702 he became professor of anatomy and botany at the University of Giessen , which he remained until the end of his life.

He was married to Susanne Catherine, daughter of Darmstadt's privy councilor and Chancellor Bernhard Ludwig Mollenbeck.
