Georg Timber-Trattnig

Georg Timber-Trattnig (born August 14, 1966 in Wolfsberg ; † January 25, 2000 in Sankt Veit an der Glan ) was an Austrian author, graphic designer, musician, visual and multimedia artist. He mainly wrote plays.

biography

Trattnig grew up in Klagenfurt. His artistic talent was shown early on, both in music and in painting and drawing. He was a founding member and bassist of the Austrian indie rock band Naked Lunch , wrote the lyrics and designed the cover artwork for their first two albums. He also wrote texts for artists such as Ludwig Hirsch , Ulli Bäer , Stella Jones , Nika , Vienna Lusthouse and Alexander Bisenz . Since 1988 he has worked as a freelance writer. During this time his first literary publications fell. After leaving Naked Lunch, he devoted himself entirely to writing, even though he continued to work in other media such as the visual arts, song lyrics and musicals until his death. From 1998 he concentrated mainly on the theater.

He left behind over twenty plays, some of which were performed in his lifetime. The Robert Musil Institute / Carinthian Literature Archive of the University of Klagenfurt, which keeps Timber-Trattnig's estate, has an extensive volume with pieces, prose, poetry and graphics as well as a biography and one under the title “Schrei mich zurück in mein innerstes All” literary classification of the plays published.
