Alexander Bisenz (born February 22, 1962 in Vienna ; † May 15, 2021 in St. Pölten ) was an Austrian cabaret artist and painter .
Life
Bisenz's grandfather was a theater director, his father an actor. However, the latter died early. Bisenz took private acting lessons and attended seminars on facial expressions , dance , parody and singing . He began his career as a magician , fire eater and ventriloquist .
In 1986 he went public with his first show "Eternal Young Heroes". Other programs followed, such as “Auszuckt”, with which he went on his first major Austrian tour in 1990, “Gnadenlos” and “Nix is Nix”, as well as numerous appearances on radio and television programs.
From the beginning, his alter ego "Alfred Wurbala" was an integral part of the programs. In addition, Bisenz slipped into a wide variety of roles. In the program “Aus'n Leb'n”, which premiered in 1997, Bisenz also used painting on the stage, he converted the individual instruments into different colors and thus created a complete abstract painting .
After the 1998 “Rawuzi-Kapuzi” program, he took a break from cabaret and devoted himself intensively to painting. He always used acrylic paints , with which he colored sand and applied it to canvas with a brush , spatula or fingers . He brought it to numerous exhibitions at home and abroad and became a recognized artist who ran his own studio in St. Pölten.
In 2001 he was awarded the Jakob Prandtauer Prize for Science and Art from the city of St. Pölten. In 2017 he celebrated his 40th stage anniversary.
In spring 2020, Bisanz had a heart operation after a serious heart attack . On May 15, 2021, he died after a serious illness at the age of 59 in St. Pölten.
