Georg Weber (born April 28, 1890 in Weisenheim , † November 14, 1958 in Munich ) was an officer , most recently a major in the reserve , of the German Air Force in World War II .

Life

Weber joined the Royal Bavarian Infantry Regiment "Prince Wilhelm von Hohenzollern" No. 22 as a flag junior and company officer on August 1, 1911 , where he remained until he was assigned to the war school . He visited this from October 1, 1912 to July 1913. During the First World War , Weber acted as platoon leader in Reserve Infantry Regiment 8 , later joined the airship department and served in various field aviation departments. After the demobilization of these aviation departments in January 1919, he returned on January 7, 1919 as a company officer to Infantry Regiment 22 , but soon transferred to Rifle Regiment 1 . On March 31, 1920 he retired from military service as captain.

From April 1, 1920 to November 30, 1932 he worked as a freelancer. On December 1, 1932, he joined the Supreme SA leadership as an assistant for aviation and was also head of the aviation corps of the Bavarian regional group of the German Air Sports Association . He held this position until the end of December 1933. Weber then joined the air force, which was in the process of being secretly established, as a councilor. Until mid-April 1940 he was initially a consultant e.g. V., later group leader e.g. V. and department head e.g. V. in the central department of the Reich Aviation Ministry . On April 17, 1940 Weber rose there to the office group chief eg V. He held this position until May 17, 1944. From May 18 until the end of the war Weber was an official eg V in the Reich Aviation Ministry. During his service there, he was called up for active military service from October 2, 1943 to May 8, 1945 as a major in the reserve.
