Georg Wild

Georg Andreas Wild (born January 11, 1926 in Budisava ; † February 15, 1980 ) was a German theologian and historian .

Life

From 1947 to 1948 he studied theology at the University of Erlangen-Nuremberg , 1948 at the Humboldt University in Berlin and from 1949 to 1952 at the University of Greifswald . After the first theological exam on May 29, 1952 in Greifswald , he was a lecturer in Serbo-Croatian at the Humboldt University in Berlin from September 1952 to February 1956 . From September 1953 to June 1958 he was a scientific aspirant . After completing his doctorate with Walter Elliger on May 4, 1957 in Berlin and fleeing in 1958, he worked from 1959 to 1961 as a research assistant at the Eastern Church Institute of the University of Münster . From 1961 to 1967 he was a research assistant in the Department of Eastern European History at the University of Mainz. After his habilitation in Mainz on May 8, 1967, he taught there from 1967 to 1971 as a private lecturer for Eastern European history. From 1968 to 1969 he was a lecturer at Saarbrücken University . From 1971 to 1980 he taught as a professor for Eastern European history at the University of Mainz.
