Georg Wolf (lawyer)

Georg Wolf (born February 20, 1921 ; † June 23, 2012 in Munich ) was a German lawyer and police officer.

Career

The doctor of law was the head of the Munich Police and Deputy Police President of Munich behind Manfred Schreiber .

When Munich was taken hostage during the 1972 Summer Olympics , he was the chief of operations in the failed rescue attempt at the Fürstenfeldbruck military airfield .

On the occasion of an election rally by the CSU for the 1980 federal elections on September 23, 1980 at Marienplatz in Munich , he was deposed as police chief because he had refused to remove " Stop Strauss " posters. In November 1980, the Bavarian Ministry of the Interior also withdrew from him the command of the controversial pledge of recruits on Munich's Königsplatz .

In the Bavarian Parliament , a committee of inquiry was set up in December 1980, which should clarify whether Prime Minister Franz Josef Strauss had taken contrary to the constitution affect the deposition wolf.
