Georg Zülch

Georg Zülch (born March 7, 1851 in Melsungen , † June 8, 1890 in Oberlahnstein ) was a German teacher and local researcher.

Life

Georg Zülch was a son of the Altmorschen and Melsung pastor and rector Karl Edwart Zülch and Berta Schenck from Offenbach . From 1869 he studied Protestant theology and philology at the Philipps University of Marburg . In the winter semester 1869/70 he became active with Louis Viereck in the Corps Teutonia Marburg . In 1870 he moved to the University of Leipzig , where he also joined the Corps Lusatia Leipzig . After graduating, he worked as a candidate at the old state school in Korbach in 1874/75 . He then came as an assistant teacher at the grammar school in Hadamar and finally served from 1877 as a secondary school teacher at the grammar school in Oberlahnstein .

During this time he wrote several articles on the history of the city of Oberlahnstein. With the chaplain Josef Hellbach , he founded the Lahnsteiner Altertumsverein. Articles on the history of the Middle Rhine were made for the Rhenus magazine published by the association from 1883 .

Zülch was only 39 years old. The art historian Walther Karl Zülch is a son, the actress Gisela Zülch is his granddaughter.
