Georg von Tessing ( also Tessinger, Tässinger, Taffinger ; † June 4, 1541 ) was as Georg III. Bishop of Seckau .

Georg von Tessing came from Lauingen on the Danube . From 1522 to 1526 he studied in Ingolstadt . From 1531 to 1536 he worked as Chancellor in Salzburg . On November 25, 1536, the Archbishop of Salzburg, Matthäus Lang von Wellenburg, nominated him as Bishop of Seckau, Christoph von Lamberg was still at his side as coadjutor from the time of his predecessor, which put a heavy financial burden on the diocese. In 1540 he was seconded to the Worms Religious Discussion by King Ferdinand I.

Politically, Tessing hardly emerged, he must have limited himself to the spiritual administration of his diocese. He died on June 4, 1541, place of death and grave are unknown.
