George Axelrod
George Axelrod (born June 9, 1922 , † June 21, 2003 ) was an American screenwriter , but also a film producer and film director . He was mainly active during the 1950s and 1960s . In 1961 he was nominated for an Oscar (for the best screenplay adaptation in the film Breakfast at Tiffany's , 1961).
Axelrod also wrote some novels as well as plays . The most famous of these, My wife learns a word ( The Seven Year Itch ) was founded in 1955 by Billy Wilder as the cursed 7th year ( The Seven Year Itch ) with Marilyn Monroe and Tom Ewell filmed.
