George Thomson Cornet (born July 15, 1877 in Inverness , Scotland , † November 22, 1952 in Liverpool ) was a British water polo player.
Cornet was active in the British club Inverness Swim Club , which could win the British water polo championships in 1909 and the finals reached four other tournaments. Between 1897 and 1912 he played 17 times for the national team. At the Olympic Games in London in 1908 and the Games in Stockholm in 1912, he won the gold medal with the British national team.
Cornet worked privately for a railway company and was active in numerous other sports in his home town of Inverness. He played soccer and cricket and also practiced athletics.
