George Neville Hill (born February 26, 1891 in Christchurch , New Zealand , † November 29, 1944 in Auckland , New Zealand) was a New Zealand long-distance runner who competed internationally for the Australasia Federation , an association of teams from Australia and New Zealand.
George Hill was a three-time New Zealand national champion in the mile run and a two-time champion over three miles. He also won the 1911 Australasian championships over one and three miles.
His achievements earned Hill an invitation to the Australasian Olympic squad for the 1912 Olympic Games in Stockholm . Hill was one of three New Zealanders on the 25-man Olympic team. His two compatriots were the swimmer Malcolm Champion , New Zealand's first Olympic champion, and the tennis player Anthony Wilding , who won the bronze medal in tennis singles.
George Hill was used in the 5000 and 10,000 m competitions. In both races he failed in the preliminary round.
