George Holt Thomas (born March 31, 1870 in London , † January 1, 1929 ) was a British publisher and aviation pioneer.

Thomas met the aviation pioneer Henri Farman and, after a conversation, recognized the military capabilities of the aircraft . As early as 1909, at his suggestion, one of the first airfields in Great Britain was created ( Brooklands ), which was completed in 1910. In 1912 he founded the Airco company , which dealt with aircraft construction. At first, constructions were made by Farman, but as early as 1914 they started their own constructions under the direction of Geoffrey de Havilland .

Thomas continued to commit himself to the development of the aircraft. On October 5, 1916, he founded his own airline, Aircraft Transport and Travel Limited , which held air races and flight days. His publishing house also produced magazines for those interested in aviation.
