George Quirinus Vitzthum von Eckstädt , also Georg Quirin Vitzthum von Eckstedt , (* 1663 ; † 13 May 1740 in Dresden ) was a German royal Polish and electoral Saxon chamberlain and chief accountant.

Life

He came from the Kannawurf line of the Thuringian noble family Vitzthum von Eckstädt . His father was Johann George Vitzthum von Eckstädt auf Kannawurf, Provost of the Merseburg Monastery .

Like many of his family members, he also embarked on an administrative career at the Saxon court of the Wettins in the royal seat of Dresden .

From 1727 George Quirinus Vitzthum von Eckstädt was co-lean of the Tiefensee manor and the Neuhaus and Petersroda estates after their owner Friedrich Graf Vitzthum von Eckstädt had died. From 1731 he was also jointly with Friedrich Wilhelm Vitzthum von Eckstädt co-lean on the estate Wenigenvargula, which his cousin Hartmann Vitzthum von Eckstädt had bought from his wife Catharina Sophia nee von Daßel.

George Quirinus Vitzthum von Eckstädt died of catarrhal fever on May 13, 1740 and was buried five days later in the council crypt at the St. Johannisfriedhof in Dresden with ordinary ceremonies and bells.

family

George Quirinus Vitzthum von Eckstädt was married to Sophia Amalia Maria, née von Vieck, from the Weitendorf family. After her death he married the daughter of the chief hunter von Leubnitz, who survived her husband.

The only son he left behind was George Friedrich Vitzthum von Eckstädt, who was then a captain in the service of the King of Denmark. His sister Hedwig Elisabeth Sophia, widowed von Löben, was court master at the Joachimstein monastery.
