George Shepherd
George Shepherd (born April 23, 1938 in Port Colborne , Ontario ) is a retired Canadian hurdler and sprinter .
In 1958 he finished sixth over 440 yard hurdles at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Cardiff and came fourth with the Canadian 4 x 440 yard relay. He did not start over 440 yards in the quarterfinals.
At the Olympic Games in Rome in 1960 he was eliminated from the 400 m hurdles in the preliminary run.
In 1962 he finished sixth at the British Empire and Commonwealth Games in Perth with the Canadian 4-by-440-yard relay and failed over 440-yard hurdles in the first round.
From 1958 to 1962 he was five times in a row Canadian champion over 440 yard hurdles and 400 m hurdles. He set his personal best over 440 yard hurdles of 51.9 s in 1962.
