George Curtis Locke Wallach (born March 20, 1883 in Castle Douglas , Scotland , † April 2, 1980 in Manchester , United Kingdom ) was a British long-distance and cross-country runner of Scottish descent.

George Wallach was the son of the plumber Hermann Wallach, who immigrated from Germany, and his Scottish wife Janet Wallach. He was the twelfth of the couple's 18 children. George Wallach moved to Lewes in 1905 and to Lancashire in 1906 . He had found work there with the Manchester Evening News .

In terms of sport, he specialized in long-distance and cross-country running. He took part in the Scottish Athletics Championships and was champion in the 4-mile run in 1911. In the same year he won bronze at the Cross of Nations , the forerunner of the World Cross Country Championships , both in the individual and in the team standings. In 1912 a silver medal was added to the team. Wallach was invited to join the UK Olympic squad. At the Olympic Games in Stockholm in 1912 Wallach started in the 10,000 meter race , but could not finish his heat and was eliminated.

After the Olympic Games in 1913 he won another bronze medal with the cross team. In the same year he became Scottish four and ten mile champions. In 1914 he was able to defend his national championship title over ten miles, he was also Scottish cross-country champion and won two silver medals at the Cross of Nations in 1914, one in the individual and one in the team competition.
