Heinrich Aloys Praeger

Heinrich Aloys Praeger (also: Heinrich Hijman Chaim Aron Aloys Präger or Heinrich Aloys Präger ; born December 23, 1783 in Amsterdam ; died August 7, 1854 in Magdeburg ) was a Dutch-German music director , violinist and composer , as well as Kapellmeister . Life

Heinrich Hijman Chaim Aron Aloys Präger came from a Jewish family and was born in Amsterdam in the 18th century as the son of Aron Hijman Prager Preger Laitsan (1756–1815) and his wife Eva Joseph Berlijn (1762–1835). During the time of the Electorate of Hanover , Präger spent his youth in the city of Braunschweig . In 1829 Heinrich Aloys Praeger went to Hanover in order to succeed Wilhelm Sutor as Kapellmeister of the Royal Hanoverian Orchestra from April 8 of that year and until January 3, 1831 . As a member of the Hanoverian court orchestra , he was obliged to perform in public operas and concerts, especially in the palace opera house at the time . His successor there as Royal Kapellmeister and later General Music Director was Heinrich Marschner .

In the winter of 1831/1832 Präger was hired as one of the two music directors at the Aachen theater , alongside Friedrich Wilhelm Telle .

As "[...] Mr. Präger aus Bielefeld ”the musician also had a concert appearance in Cologne in 1838 . He died in Magdeburg in 1854.
