Georges Chedanne
Georges Paul Chedanne (born September 23, 1861 in Maromme , Département Seine-Maritime , † December 30, 1940 in Paris ) was a French architect .
Chedanne studied at the École nationale supérieure des beaux-arts de Paris with Julien Guadet . Immediately after completing his studies, he won several prizes, including the Grand Prix for a project to restore the Pantheon in Rome . His studies helped dating the construction time of the Pantheon. After his return from Rome he practiced as a freelance architect. The Art Nouveau influenced him, but he kept his eclectic in style. As a result, several hotel buildings were built in Paris and other French cities. He was also tasked with building the Galeries Lafayette .
Chedanne also worked as a state architect for the Third Republic . In connection with this, he was involved in a financial scandal and investigations were initiated against him, but these have been stopped. He planned several French embassies abroad, including the one in Vienna .
