Georgeta Hurmuzachi

Georgeta Hurmuzachi , after marriage to Georgeta Dumitrescu , (born January 23, 1936 ) is a former Romanian gymnast .

Hurmuzachi belonged to the CS Dinamo Bucharest. In 1956 she took part in the Olympic Games in Melbourne. With her Dinamo teammates Elena Săcălici and Emilia Vătășoiu as well as Sonia Iovan , Elena Leuştean and Elena Mărgărit , she won bronze behind the Soviet Union and Hungary and thus the first gymnastics all- around team medal for Romania.

In addition, Hurmuzachi reached fifth place in the group gymnastics and 16th place in the individual all-around competition. In floor exercise, on the uneven bars, in the horse jump and on the balance beam, she landed on the back of the table.
