Georgi Adamowitsch Nadson
Georgi Adamowitsch Nadson ( Russian Георгий Адамович Надсон ; * 23 May July / 4 June 1867 greg. In Kiev ; † 15 April 1939 in Moscow ) was a Soviet biologist and one of the pioneers of radio ecology in Russia.
Nadson founded the Microbiology Laboratory of the Russian Academy of Sciences in 1930 . He was director of this institute until 1937, when he was arrested for allegedly participating in anti-Soviet sabotage. The real reason for his execution, however, was his opposition to Lysenkoism .
His botanical-mycological author's abbreviation is " Nadson ". The alga Ulvella nadsonii is named after him.
