Georgi Aleksandrow Ivanov (also written Geogi Alexandrov Ivanov, Bulgarian Георги Александров Иванов - Гонзо ; born July 2, 1976 in Plovdiv ), nickname Gonzo , is a former Bulgarian football player . He plays in the position of the center forward.

Career

Ivanov began his career in 1986 with Lokomotive Plovdiv in Bulgaria. Between 1986 and 1992 he played in the club's youth division. Between 1992 and 1997 he played in the first team of Plovdiv and was a regular from an early age. Overall, Ivanov completed 54 games in which he scored 15 goals for Lokomotive Plovdiv. In 1997 he moved to the top Bulgarian club Levski Sofia . There he played between 1997 and 2002. A total of 115 games and scored 69 goals for Sofia. In 2002 he signed a contract with Stade Rennes in Ligue 1 . But he only made twelve league games and didn't score a goal. After a disappointing season, he returned to Levski Sofia in 2003. There he played 21 A group games in the 2003/04 season and scored nine goals. For the 2004/05 season he went to Samsunspor in Turkey . After a bad season with only four league goals, he moved to Gaziantepspor in 2005 . In the 2005/06 season he only met once. After the season he went back to Levski Sofia. In 2006/07 he made 13 games there and scored seven goals. For the 2007/08 season he made another trip to Croatia to NK Rijeka and came back to Levski Sofia in 2008. He ended his career in the summer of 2009.

National team

Between 1996 and 2005 he made 34 appearances for Bulgaria , scoring four goals. He also took part in the 1998 World Cup with Bulgaria .
