Georgi Najakov

Georgi Stefanow Nadschakow ( Bulgarian Георги Стефанов Наджаков , born December 26, 1896 in Dupnitsa , † February 24, 1981 in Sofia ) was a Bulgarian physicist.

Life

Najakov studied physics and mathematics in Sofia. In 1925/26 he deepened his studies in Paris . From 1937 he worked as a professor at the University of Sofia . In 1945 he became a member of the Bulgarian Academy of Sciences and in 1950 of the World Peace Council . Also in 1950 he took over the chairmanship of the Bulgarian National Committee for Defense of Peace . In 1956 he became a member of the scientific council of the United Institute for Nuclear Research in Dubna in the Soviet Union .

In his scientific work he dealt in particular with problems of electrical properties of dielectrics and semiconductors .

Najakov was awarded the Georgi Dimitrov Order and the Dimitrov Prize.
