Gerakini ( Greek Γερακινή , ( f. Sg. ) Spoken Jerakiní ) is a village on the south coast of the municipality of Polygyros in the Central Macedonia region . The place lies at the apex of the Gulf of Kassandra (Κόλπος Κασσάνδρας) between the peninsulas Kassandra (south) and Sithonia (southeast). Gerakini is not specifically recorded by the Greek statistics service, but is assigned to the coastal settlement of Kalyves Polygyrou with 1,333 inhabitants.

The northern district consists of an old mining settlement and the magnesite works ( Μεταλλείο Γερακινής Metallio Gerakinis ). South of the coastal road is the new settlement ( Παραλία Γερκινής Paralia Gerakinis ) with hotels, shops and taverns. There is a magnesite shipping facility on the coast , but it was shut down a few years ago and dismantling began in May 2013. There are no special tourist attractions in Gerakini, the beach and the tourist infrastructure correspond to the standard of similarly large towns in the area. The central location of Gerakini as a starting point makes day trips to the Kassandra and Sithonia peninsulas as well as to the central part of Chalkidiki or to Thessaloniki possible.
