Gerald Haider (born November 16, 1955 in Wels ) is a former Austrian football player .

Athletic career

Haider began his professional career in 1974 as a striker for Austria Salzburg . Günter Praschak had signed him there . During his time in Salzburg he played 121 games in the 1st Bundesliga and scored 33 goals. For the 1978/1979 season, Haider moved to VÖEST Linz . He stayed with the club until the end of his career in 1988.

National team

Haider completed a competitive game for the Austrian national soccer team in 1976 .

After football

After football, Haider worked as a tiler. He enjoys playing tennis in his spare time and has even been able to quit smoking.
