Frank Ricotti

Frank Ricotti (born January 31, 1949 in London ) is a British vibraphonist and percussionist of modern jazz who mainly works as a studio musician.

Live and act

Ricotti was a youth member of the National Youth Jazz Orchestra and studied at Trinity College of Music from 1967 to 1970 . During this time he was involved in projects and recordings by Neil Ardley (1968–71), Graham Collier and Mike Gibbs (1969–72) and led a combo with Dave Gelly . He then founded his own quartet and also worked in jazz with Stan Tracey (1970), Harry Beckett (1970–72), Norma Winstone (1971), Gordon Beck (1973–74) and Tony Coe (1978). Together with bassist Mike de Albuquerque, he presented the album First Wind . He has also been involved in the studio in productions by Rick Wakeman , Peter Frampton , Caravan , Savoy Brown , Curved Air and numerous pop musicians .

In the 1980s he worked with John Taylor and Chris Laurence in the band Paragonne ; In 1984 he also worked again with Gordon Beck. Afterwards he worked almost exclusively as a studio musician.
