Bryan Spring
Bryan Spring (* 24. August 1945 in London ) is an English drummer of modern jazz .
Live and act
Spring began playing drums when he was six. Apart from a few hours of practice with Philly Joe Jones , he is self-taught . Between 1965 and 1978 he was a member of various Stan Tracey formations . He also played with Frank Ricotti from 1967 to 1969 ; He was also a member of Klaus Doldingers Passport in 1972 and of Nucleus for a few months in 1974 . In 1975 he founded a quartet led jointly with Don Weller , which also toured Great Britain with Hannibal Marvin Peterson in the 1980s . Since the early 1990s he has had his own trio with pianist Mark Edwards and bassist Andy Cleyndert . He has continued to work with Keith Tippett , Jean-Luc Ponty , Joe Williams , Tubby Hayes , George Coleman, and Charlie Rouse .
